We were lucky to get two consecutive nights at the @Grand Ole Opry this past week. It’s always a pleasure to be there and it gives us a chance to visit with old friends that we don’t get to see often enough. On August 23rd, it was a 20th Opry Anniversary celebration for my dear friend, Trace Adkins. Trace was kind enough to sing with me on my album, Taste of the Truth. He’s a good friend and very talented with his music career as well as his acting career.
Of course, it’s always fun visiting with Rhonda Vincent and her band, The Rage – and we were glad we could perform our mutual friends’ song, “I’ve Got One of Those Too”, written by Jimmy Melton and Erin Enderlin (who was at the Opry). It does make a person nervous when the songwriter is there but I think we pulled it off. It was only our second live performance of that song so that led to the nerves!
Of course I had to follow one of the greatest vocalists and entertainers, Jason Crabbe. If you haven’t been to one of his concerts, you need to make it a point to go. You’ll thank me later. He is one hard act to follow!
I did an interview earlier that morning with the WSM radio icons, Bill Cody and Charlie Mattos, and who should be coming on right after me but my pals from Exile who were also on the Opry that night. They just released a new album so be sure to check that out. They are such incredible singers, songwriters and entertainers.

- Rhonda Vincent and I took a moment in Rhonda’s Opry dressing room to rehearse the song with her band members and the FPB. That’s Erin Enderlin watching over us!
