We had lots of fun Friday, March 24th in Brady, TX at the Heart Of Texas Country Music Festival. It’s a huge REAL country music event put together by our friend, Tracy Pitcox. Tracy runs the Heart of Country Record label, a studio plus he has a real country music show on KNEL Radio and puts together this huge music festival every year. He has worked hard to preserve real country music! After our show, we had a nice time visiting with some country legends also there for this big festival including Jeannie C. Riley (I’m sure everyone knows her monster hit “Harper Valley PTA which went # 1 on BOTH country and pop charts!).
Also my great friend and incredible singer/musician, Tony Booth was there. Tony was having hits on Capitol Records before I ever got signed.Tony helped me out in my band for awhile too! If you listen to Willie’s Roadhouse on SiriusXM, I know you’ll hear one of his biggest hits “The Key’s In The Mailbox” which is in regular rotation there.
My buddy, Darrell McCall has also had a long, successful career as a singer and songwriter with too many hits to list here. Don’t miss him if he’s performing anywhere near you!
Thank you Tracy Pitcox for putting together this wonderful festival and for helping to keep REAL country music alive and well.
