Over the years so many good things have happened for me – and I know I’ve been a lucky man to be allowed to sing for my living all these years. I’ve said many times it wasn’t a plan of mine to be in this business, although I always enjoyed singing. I just never dreamed that I could make a living doing it so I made sure I had a steady job working on cars and trucks while singing nights in the clubs. Fortunately for me life took me down this path and it sure has been great to meet so many nice people around the world.
In the photos below, I was at the Country Music Hall of Fame back in 2012 when we were having a little show to celebrate my release of the 25 Greatest Hits album. Little did I know that the legend himself, Merle Haggard, was booked to be at a later event. Merle was one of my biggest heroes and we worked together on tours several times. It was great to be able to meet up with him and talk about the good times we’d had together.
