I was recently asked about the time back on June 7, 1978 when I was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame’s WALKWAY OF THE STARS! Thanks to journalist,Tom Roland, for keeping up with the date on that! Other inductees that day included Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Joe Stampley and Narvel Felts- so I was in good company. Later, a new “Walkway of the Stars” was built in the Opry area, and once again I put my prints in the concrete as you can see in this photo dated 10-10-84. Usually when someone wants to put you in concrete, it’s not gonna end well – but I made it through twice. A third time might not go well so I hope someone’s got this preserved somewhere.
