Oh, it was a hot time in Nashville but not just from the heat – my band was sizzling on the stage of the @Grand Ole Opry last week. We really enjoyed our two shows (July 18th and 21st) and are looking forward to returning for two more Opry shows in August (22nd and 23rd), followed by a full show at The Troubadour Theater on August 24th, before heading to Crossville, TN to the Palace Theatre (August 25th) and finally to Marion, VA at the Lincoln Theatre on August 26th. Yes, we will be busy but loving every minute.
The Opry always has wonderful moments which I’m proud to witness and one of those was on July 21st when we were able to watch the young singer, @JakeWorthington make his Opry debut. Jake sings REAL country music and he got a deafening round of applause from the audience that night. If you see he’s going to be anywhere near you, you’ll want to get to his show. I guarantee you’ll thank me later.
Below are just some photos of the many, great artists from our Opry week.
- We enjoyed @ Lauren Alaina at the Opry with her charming personality and of course, her great voice. She gave me a quick hug before we posed for an “official” photo before the Opry sign backstage.
- It was great to visit with @ Thompson Square backstage. They wowed the audience with their Merle Haggard cover.
- I got to be the first to shake his hand as @ Jake Worthington came offstage from his Opry debut. He had us all standing by the side of the stage to listen to his real country music. He’s the real deal and I’m a fan.
- It was great to meet the renowned @ Keb’ Mo’ backstage. He’s a guitar legend, songwriter and arranger. He’s got 5 Grammys and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.
- Ronnie Barrett designed the M82 rifle for the military and has invented many other designs over the years. If you’ve been on the Country Reunion Cruises, you’ve probably seen or met Ronnie and his nice family.
