We had a great night once again at the Grand Ole Opry Friday night, March 28th. I had to follow Mark Wills who has one of the great voices in Country Music and of course they ended the night with one of the greatest of all times, Vince Gill. It will sure keep a fellow on his toes to be on stage with those two nearby.
Backstage, the Opry chief, Dan Rogers, stopped by to present me with the special Opry 100 gift bag which included the most amazing Opry guitar strap, personalized with my name on it. You can see from my expression in the photo below, I was not expecting that incredible gift and it will now be one of my most prized possessions.
Later, I had the chance to visit with Vince Gill where I enjoyed a good discussion on songs he has been writing. I’m sure you know besides being one of the most awarded singers, Vince is also one of the greatest songwriters – and musicians – and golfers and… well you get the picture.
If you haven’t yet been to the Opry, please add it to your bucket list. It has lasted now for 100 years so you know it’s good and I hope it goes for another 100 and more.
