Birthdays are a funny thing, you may grow a year older but it seems to take you back to your childhood and fond memories of family. I found this photo of me at age 3 with my family. from left to right, it’s my Mom, Thelma, and my Dad, Elbert (Ted), and my oldest sister, Mary Lois.
In the front, it’s my sister, Virginia (Gina), me (Gary Gene), and my oldest brother, Edmond (Eddie). Not shown because they weren’t born yet are the youngest kids: Jessie -who was born just after me, Marvin (the youngest brother), and Paula (the baby of the family).
It was my brother Jessie and me that worked as a duet when we were teenagers. We had what I thought was a fine name: The Watson Brothers. A lot of thought went into that name.
If you notice my super blonde hair, it was that fluffy blonde look that got me the nickname of “Fluff”. Everyone back in the old days called me Fluff and my brother, Jessie, called me Fluff until he passed.
Many of you have already sent in cards, emails, and birthday wishes on Facebook, Thank you. I hope to see you all on the road before the next trip around the sun. – Gene
