Happy New Year to you! For me, the New Year, always brings me a sense of hope that THIS year will be the best ever. I do believe I’ve already got one of the best bands in the business. My Farewell Party Band is incredible and they are like a well-oiled machine. They know when to kick it into high gear and when to just let it ride. On top of their great musicianship and vocal ability, they are super nice guys – and believe me, when you’re traveling on a bus so many days in the year, it’s important that everyone gets along well and we all enjoy the touring life..
Chad Phillips (guitar) and Dewayne Rice (piano) will go with me in mid-January to tape an episode of the new Malpass Brothers TV show which will air on RFD-TV. I’ll have to get back to you on an air date but they still think it will be later this Spring. Then we officially kick off our touring on January 20th in Lubbock, TX at the Cactus Theatre. I hope you’ll come out and join us there.
As I’ve mentioned, I recorded a song with The Bellamy Brothers and that single release date should be announced soon. We shot a little video to go with it that I think you’ll like. David and Howard Bellamy are great to work with and we’ve got a show with them in Hinton, OK at the Sugar Creek casino on May 18th so plan to come see us there.
