GENE WATSON UPDATE
Dear Friends- Can you believe summer is nearly over… Labor Day brings back memories from my youth because we didn’t start school til after Labor Day. These days some kids are in school as early as August. Labor Day means a nice long weekend for most folks in the USA and I hope you’re going to enjoy some time off . I’m in Canada this week for shows with Rhonda Vincent at the Auction Barn in Colborne (Ontario) and I know that will be fun. We’ve got a radio interview Tuesday morning (early!) with Mix 97 (Ontario) and a CD signing at a local store. Then next week we’re headed to Branson, September 4, 5,and 6th. I’m hearing the Thursday, September 6th show is nearly sold out so plan to come in for September 4th and 5th. Just come on and enjoy the middle of the week with Moe Bandy, me and our two great bands. I hear some of the Larry’s Country Diner folks might surprise us there and Larry, himself, will be the host for each show. You know it’s going to be fun! For tickets, call 1+866-991-8445. Thanks for stopping by here and stay in touch – you can email me at Artist@LytleMgMt.com Take care, Gene

February Off to a great start!
Hi Friends - Not sure where to start – so much has been going on with the February 14th release of my new Best of the Best , 25 Greatest Hits album coming up. I know some of you received an early copy through the pre-sales signup. I appreciate all the great comments. I was up in Nashville January 29th and 30th for two special shows. The 29th was a radio show for WRLT and the 30th was an invitation only show for Sirius XM subscribers. Sirius XM did a wonderful interview asking some questions that made me think back to the very beginning of my career. Fifty years is a long time but it was fun talking to Wade Jessen , the Sirrius XM host. Wade goes back a ways with me and he’s got a mind like a steel trap. He probably remembers more on me than I ever knew. Many thanks to Chip Bricker and my Farewell Party Band and to the Sirius XM staff for all they did: John Marks, Kyle Cantrell, Joyce Rizer and Jonathon Burtner . Just received all the information in this press piece so here are the details for this special show:
Gene Watson celebrates the release of his new career-spanning collection Best of the Best: 25 Greatest Hits with an extensive three-hour conversation with Wade Jessen, as well as an exclusive performance for a live audience at the SiriusXM Music City Theatre in Nashville. All on WILLIE’s ROADHOUSE SIRIUS XM 56

Came back to Nashville a week later to tape a Larry’s Country Diner show for RFD-TV. I’m not sure on that air date but I’ll keep you posted. At that taping I ran into Mark Chesnutt, one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and a truly good friend of mine. It was great to have a visit with him. Anytime he’s in your area be sure to go out and see his show. He is a great entertainer and of course one of the finest voices in country music.
Thanks to all of your for your kind words this week and for your support. You are the best, Gene
From the road Friday October 8, 2010
Hello Friends- It has been an exciting week in Nashville. I was pleased to be invited to participate in a tribute to Bill Anderson that will air later on RFD-TV. You know Bill is the most recorded songwriter in Nashville and I’ve had the pleasure of recording a few of his songs so for the show they asked me to sing “When A Man Can’t Get A Woman Off His Mind.” You’re going to love this show with all the great performances and of course, the many stories that were told. Bill was very moved by it all and I know everyone in the room was proud to be a part of honoring such a great man. The next day I took part in a Country Family Reunion taping where I was seated next to Moe Bandy which is always trouble . Moe is such a funny guy and we go way back. We had way too much fun . Can’t wait for you to see this show with all the good, REAL country music. On one of the taping days, Roy Clark quipped that this was the first time he’d heard a real country band in ages . Roy is the master of funny and such an entertainer. Wish you could have been in the room to hear him – he’s one of the great characters in our business. Had to race from that studio to the Ryman Thursday night to perform on the Classic Country Opry show. I had planned to surprise you and do “Rambling Rose” as so many of you have asked to hear that song after I performed it on a Larry’s Country Diner show but we just didn’t have time to get with the Opry band and work it up so at the last minute we substituted “Love In The Hot Afternoon.” Maybe we can do “Rose” for you another time. I appreciate all your emails coming in to us and we are sure hoping we can get the Vegas information from the promoter first of the week. I know so many of you are asking about that and I’m happy to hear you’ll be coming out there. It’s going to be a whole lot of fun. We will put the information right here for you just as soon as it gets to us. I do want to say Congratulations to Rhonda Vincent for her brand new album “Taken” going to #1 on the Bluegrass Album charts this week! What a great singer she is – go to www.RhondaVincent.com and check out her new album. Speaking of Rambling, guess I’ve gone on long enough. Hope you all have a great weekend , Gene
