OLD friends, CHARLIE DANIELS and GENE enjoyed a backstage moment recently at the Grand Ole Opry!
(Aug.26, 2009) Bluegrass legend and 7 X IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year , Rhonda Vincent, joined Gene Watson onstage at Douglas Corner, Nashville, TN to perform their new duet on Gene's just released album, A Taste of the Truth. The duet, "Staying Together" so delighted the music industry crowd they gave the pair a standing ovation.

GENE recorded his latest album, A TASTE OF THE TRUTH , in May 2009 with a little help from his friends! Gene is incredibly indebted to Trace Adkins, Alison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent for taking their personal time to come and record with him. Gene also gives his sincere thanks to his producer, Dirk Johnson , for going above and beyond to make this a truly, great album.
Also Gene would like to thank his Music Row cohorts, the Farewell Party Choir for adding their fun part to the track "We've Got A Pulse". The Farewell Party Choir members are: Billy Yates (co-writer of the song!), Jimmy Melton, Cyndi Forman, Joanie Keller Johnson, Bob Haberer, Mardi Haberer, Neva Pearson, Cyndi Pearson, Dean Pearson, Clint Daniels, Dale Dodson , Larry Chunn, Cedric Bush and Sarah Divine.

To this day he is known as a singer's singer in Nashville. Gene is a special artist. The trail that he forged made it possible for a lot of us to be where we are today."
