    Gene’s one of the great voices of country music.  One often overlooked but if you’ve bought one of Joe Nichols cd’s or Alan Jackson’s Under The Influence in years past you’ll realize the impact this man has made on country music.  What’s amazing is this should sound like many of the re-recorded greatest hits I’ve often heard on iTunes.  This doesn’t fall to that standard.  These are very high quality recordings and Gene’s voice is in fine form.  Many versions will have the die hard fans amazed with how closely they sound like the originals.  He never got the popularity of Haggard or Jones but if you like traditional country, it’s never sounded better on Best of the Best 25 Greatest Hits.

    I just bought and listened to the new Gene Watson CD The Best of The Best of Gene Watson.  OMG  it couldn’t be better!!!  Hot Hot Hot

    Jay Leblanc said it very well.  The Best of the Best isn’t good.  Good is FAR to inadequate to describe this album.  I even think “terrific” falls short.  It’s truly great.  Thanks to Gene for his interpretations and thanks to the songwriters for some really great music.  LOVE IT!!
