March Madness

Hi Friends – Had a great week in Nashville. Monday I did a lot of interviews, which I understand are showing up already. I started the morning with an interview by Jim Ed Brown for his show, Country Music Greats. Check this site for the air date http://www.countrymusicgreatsradio.com/. On Tuesday I was in the studio with the new artist of the year for Ireland,  Lisa McHugh. We recorded a duet for her album. Dirk Johnson produced this song that was written by Rebecca Lynn Howard and Carl Jackson titled, “Was it as Hard to be Together.” Later that evening Lisa sang on the Opry with me. At the Opry I enjoyed visiting with Joey + Rory. They are such great singers and even greater people. Check out more on Joey + Rory here http://www.joeyandrory.com/. I also enjoyed meeting the young artist, Craig Campbell. Craig had a big hit out recently “Family Man.” Find out more about Craig at his website, http://craigcampbell.tv/. I just added a bunch of new tour dates to my website, so have a look and see if the band and I are coming near you. Would be great to see you at one of the shows. Take care, Gene

Hi, Gene. I trust that you’ve had a Great Day. You sure stay busy..And that’s a good thing. Just remember to take care of yourself.. Take time for You.   … It was good to hear that Connie Smith was chosen for the CM HOF. She has always been my Favorite Female Artist. Being my Favorite Male Artist, I am Really disappointed that Your name wasn’t announced! No one is More Deserving than you, Gene… We will just continue our Crusade at the appropriate time… Hearing you on the Opry was Great! .. And you sang My Favorite Song first! .. It was Beautiful!! ..Thanks!! ..I have several, but, ‘Between This Time And The Next Time’ is #1.  I kept expecting Pete Fisher  or another Artist to walk out with an invitation for you to join… It was the Perfect  Time! .. So Much in The Nashville Music Industry that I don’t understand…  I know that you will stand firm and continue singing True Country for your Family, Friends, and Fans, as you Always have.   You’re Always #1 with all who Love you!    … God’s Blessings Always, Mary

Hello Mr. Watson!  You sound just as wonderful now as you did when I was a kid and listened to you!  My dad always listened to all the greats and still does.  When him and my mom come over, I always make sure to play your songs for him and me.  I would love for you to come to Shreveport, LA and play sometime.  If you are ever in the area and wouldn’t mind, maybe you could play at the American Legion Post #14 in Shreveport, La.  My dad and I are both members there and would love to hear you play!  My name is Amy Kennemer and I would love to have the opportunity to see you live in concert.  The Legion is a small place with vets and family of vets and I know they would love the music also!  Thanks for the great music for so many years! I hope to see you soon!  You and Don Williams should do a tour together!  That would be another one that I would love to see!  Take care!
